Dating from the 1940s, this pair of paintings are of couples flirting and drinking. In the first painting, the man is playing a lute to the lady, in the second they are sitting closely at a table drinking. They are unsigned but attributed to a Dutch artist named Cornille. Oil on wood (walnut). The frame is of good quality, made with a keyed miter joint.
 

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
Each approx. 15¾" high x 19¾" x 2¼" deep.
Each approx. 40cm high x 50cm x 6cm deep.
