Napoleon III full-length tilt mirror w/ bamboo style frame70¾"

SKU: 16891

US$3,582
This beautiful bamboo-style pivoting dressing mirror dates from the end of the nineteenth century, Napoleon III period. Called a "psyché" mirror in French in reference to the story of psyché in mythology, these are typically large movable mirrors mounted between posts on pivots that allow the mirror to be tilted to the desired angle to look at oneself full-length.
This mirror's frame is likely cherrywood made to look like bamboo - common for Napoleon III furniture. The mirror glass is original. Purchased in Lyon, this mirror is the perfect accent for a master bedroom or dressing room. It would also be a lovely choice for a clothing boutique, hairdresser's salon or barber shop mirror.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.

Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
